High ranks
From Beyond the Pale
High ranks are unique positions within the clan structure that hold a degree of power and respect. The current list of high positions is leader, deputy, medicine cat, medicine cat apprentice and WindClan manager.
These positions (except for WindClan manager) can only be obtained through our auditioning process when roles are available. Some high positions, such as deputy and medicine cat apprentice, will move into higher positions (deputy to leader, medicine cat apprentice to medicine cat) upon death or retirement of the former leader or medicine cat.
WindClan managers do not have an audition process. Instead, they are elected through roleplay.
Auditioning process[edit | edit source]
We have a very casual, personable auditioning process. Rather than filling out a form or RP example, we have one-on-one conversations with applicants through a ticket in Discord which we call an 'interview.' You need nothing prepared to audition except a basic idea of your character.
To audition, confirm that the position you want is available and check the Auditions channel in Discord for the corresponding position. Once you click the button, it will immediately launch you into a ticket with staff. If there are any related high positions (such as leader or medicine cat), they are added to the ticket to discuss ideas.
It is a collaborative process and often, members come away with more ideas than they started with.
WindClan managers[edit | edit source]
WindClan managers are unique positions to Beyond the Pale. Due to WindClan's scattered outposts, each outpost has an elected official that acts as their leader called a Manager. The only outpost without a manager is Warren Bear, in which the leader and deputy act as co-managers.
In the spirit of it being an elected position, there is no audition process for this role. Instead, there is an in-character election process with characters campaigning for the role.
High rank activity and responsibilities[edit | edit source]
Strike system. 2 strikes & you're out. 1 post per month.
