ThunderClan is a group of cats who live in a vast underground tunnel system. Their oldest known leader was Mountainstar. Due to recent events, the majority of ThunderClan is trapped underground and separated from their leader, Yarrowstar.
Basic Description
ThunderClan cats are sturdy, big-boned cats who most often have dark and earthy coat colors. They’re known to value community, strength, and ingenuity — but are also seen as agoraphobic, isolationist, and paranoid.
ThunderClan cats live most of their lives in the dark and have poor eyesight. They have created their own form of written and spoken language to navigate the tunnels. ThunderClan warriors protect their territory by setting traps along the border instead of patrolling. Their territory includes the Crypt of Stars, the only location clan cats have ever spoken with StarClan.
Territory
Landmarks in ThunderClan territory include:
- Camp - ThunderClan's camp is a sprawling network of narrow tunnels and compact rooms, with a large communal chamber in the center. Rather than having dens based on rank, ThunderClan cats typically live in family groups.
- Unwinding Tunnels - After the quake, the once-well-known tunnels have shifted, blocking some routes and revealing others. The traps ThunderClan once laid for intruders now pose a threat to the clan cats as well.
- Underground Lake - A large underground lake that serves as ThunderClan's main water source. Small blind white fish swim at the surface of the water, which always tastes faintly of sulfur.
- Sunlight Spur - Undiscovered.
- Gem Grotto - Undiscovered.
- Fungi Cavern - Undiscovered.
- Arsenic Abyss - Undiscovered.
- Crypt of Stars - Once the place where cats went to commune with StarClan, now lost.
